Am I right to say that it's Kelly's work? If it is, you're really good!

King Kong Jane Publicity Week

Beautiful furniture, state-of-the-art equipments, bright and hot lights on, friendly crew and hosts... these are just some of the things you can find in the recording studio in the Wee Kim Wee School of Commnications and Information located within NTU. King Kong Jane was invited to an interview by the Nanyang Spectrum, the TV specialists in the school... it was a great experience for us, being interviewed at a recording studio for the first time. As usual, the question of why the name King Kong Jane came popping out... and this time, ruishen came out with his lame story about how he dreamt about King Kong and the giant ape told him that if he is a girl, he'll be called Jane... haha... we were trying our best to contain the laughter that was dying to show its presence!!! Anyway thanks to Nanyang Spectrum, we got our 10mins of fame!!! Thank you for the hospitality shown towards us. Catch us on Channel NTU ard the school next week at 12pm and 3pm every weekday!

Tmrw, Renquan and I will be heading down to the Radio Fusion booth located @ Canteen B to have a short interview with the DJs... and guess what? From now onwards, our very own NTU radio station will be playing our own originals!!! I'm certainly looking forward to hearing the tunes from King Kong Jane when I have my meals there!!!

A really busy week for us... but an enjoyable one as well. Thank you all who have given us the chance to have ourselves heard on TV and Radio! Thereafter, King Kong Jane will be taking a short break for our exams... so no gigs in April... but we'll be back in May, fresh from the break, let's hope more inspiration will come our way after that! Meanwhile, take good care of yourselves man! =)

Under the spotlight

We had a photoshoot in our jamming room last night, thanks to the people at NTU's Corporate Communications department. We should be getting some of the photos soon, so stay tuned to see how we tried our best to look like models!

We were then interviewed in a broadcast studio in NTU's School of Communication and Information tonight, as part of an episode for Nanyang Spectrum, a television station within the university. So don't be surprised if you see us on a television screen in NTU soon!

NTU Family Day 2007 - A Day of Fun Filled for Everyone

It was a carnival filled with fun games and performances for the families who came down... I bet the kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly especially when there were so many booths set up just for them!!! If only the queues for each booth weren't so long... I would have plunged into each and every single booth to play the games... well for the uncles and aunties who didn't have the energy to run ard the place and indulge themselves with the games, they were sitting in the pavilion enjoying the performances and waiting eagerly for the lucky draw to start. Unfortunately for our dear Renquan... he didn't win the top prize of a 20" flat screen tv... but some uncle or auntie did.

Even though we were basically playing to a crowd of middle-aged people whom i guess didn't really like rock music... we enjoyed ourselves to the max... simply because we were immersed in the mood of fun and excitement of the event. The drums got spoilt partially and I only had one right tom available for me... but it was still nice to be able to perform in front of the big shots from NTU... slowly and gradually, our original songs are becoming more well known to people ard us from NTU... yay!!!

Congratulations to the organizers of the event!!! It was a success!!! Just by looking at the scale of the event we could tell the amount of work put into this Family Day! One last gig from us this coming saturday at the Novena Square before we take a break for the dreaded exams!!! See you this saturday or see you in may!!! =)

Youth Park Reloaded

The crowd for our first set at Youth Park yesterday didn't seem too interested in listening to us, pretty much thanks to how there was no one else at the venue other than exhausted marathon runners.

Fortunately, our second set enjoyed a much better reception. Special thanks to the 4 of you who turned up despite having exams this week, and also for printing out the lyrics and singing along to "My Brown Lollipop". All the best for your papers!

We would also like to thank the dancers who went on stage after us. You guys made our day with your cheers!

In all, it was great fun to debut "Glide" and "This Is A Soundcheck", which the emcee Norman promptly labelled as our 'first platinum hit'. Hur hur.

Stay tuned for videos of our performances if you weren't there to catch us in action.

Youth Park videos

Here are a couple of videos from our gig at Youth Park last weekend. The sound system wasn't exactly in tip-top condition on that day, so pardon the audio quality below yah?

Thanks again to Weetz, who seems to be getting increasingly familiar with our original compositions!

Youths in the park

Hi everyone! Thank you for making our first gig at Youth Park a success!

We're sorry about how we didn't perform at the scheduled 7.20pm due to unforseen circumstances, but we're glad some of you managed to catch us in action after all!

Special thanks to the 4 of you who bravely stood near the stage to show us your support! Hehe.

We would also like to thank Jac and her fellow-organisers for giving us the opportunity to perform, as well as the sky (for not thunderstorming) and the sound crew!

Our next gig will be in the afternoon of 11th March, Sunday! So stay tuned for details!
