Looking back, it's been a really fruitful year, thanks to the experiences that I've accumulated as a vocalist for King Kong Jane.
I still remember how I was apprehensive about joining the band at first, largely due to not staying in the same hall and barely knowing the guys. But I guess we've come a pretty long way: from our first performance in school, winning a competition, being a guest act for Battle of The Bands, performing to thousands of freshmen, rocking the Padang, to finally coming up with our own material lately.
Not every gig we performed at was ideal in terms of audience response, acoustics or payment, but we've come to know each other well enough to poke fun at our respective quirks on and off stage. In a sense, there's also a certain chemistry that allows us to play off each other's musical sensibilities when composing now.
The new year ahead will see each of us having new commitments, which I hope won't compromise our progress as a band too adversely, simply because there's still so much more that can be done to materialize our lofty rock star dreams.
Someday, it'll be cool to release an EP or album instead of uploading demos and videos online.
But whatever happens, I would like to thank everyone who has ever come down for a gig, watched a video of us on YouTube, listened to us on myspace, offered a word of encouragement or advice, filmed a performance of ours, asked for an autograph, or simply visited this blog out of curiousity.
And last but not least, thank you guys, for making me a part of it all.

Regards,
Colin
