First the snare drum, then the microphones

The crowd at NUS last night was smaller than we expected, but they also turned out to be one of the most appreciate audiences we've ever performed to.

We arrived as Ugly In The Morning were wrapping up their set, and opened the show with "Crowded". Unfortunately, the stand for the snare drum broke after that, which led to us performing "Go Away" with Jianping supporting the snare drum between his legs!

There was no choice but to get off stage, but when we returned with "Lollipop" and "If It Wasn't For You", the response from the audience was really amazing. It was particularly cool when this row of guys started dancing from one side of the hall to another whenever our choruses kicked in.

Halfway through "Lemonade", the microphones went dead, which surprisingly led to cheers of encouragement from the audience! I remember thinking to myself: this should have been our audience during last year's Baybeats!

Electrico and Great Spy Experiment delivered technically impressive sets after us, but it was Sixology that really put a smile on my face. Their medley of covers went down really well with the crowd, and the chemistry between the band members was such a joy to watch. As I was watching them, I couldn't help thinking to myself that at the end of the day, it's really important to remember to have fun while doing what you do...

P.S. Thanks for having us NUS, and thanks to Jem for standing in for Ruishen
